New Idle Stabilizer Valve

A few days ago my/my girlfriend's 5000CST starting idling REALLY fast, say
about 3000 rpm.  I knew something was screwed, and judging from the amount
of talk about it on the list over the past 6 months, thought it was
probably the idle stabilizer.  My friendly neighborhood shop replaced it,
and charged almost nothing for labor, but they had to order the part from
some audi parts dealer, and it cost about $150.00.  I know they charged me
exactly what they paid for the part -- I saw the receipt.  Could I have
got the part for much less from Clair or somewhere else on the Audi parts
list? This is an 86 5000CST.
