This is WRONG! The offset is determined by measuring the distance from the
wheel centerline to the mounting face ... if you add an equal amount of rim
width to both sides of the wheel, this dimension does NOT change. You have
confused "offset" with "backspace"...

Just because Ronal recommended a specific offset doesn't mean it's the best
choice for that particular car ... it more likely means that is the closest
offset they have available from the three or four castings they're using to
make wheels for a wide range of cars.

Agreed ... the 4k/4kq/etc. was designed with a 14mm "negative roll radius"
and you WILL notice a bit of "wander" if you reduce the offset by any more
than this amount. Of course, since you'll probably be changing to a lower
profile tire, which tend to do this as well, it's hard to isolate one from
the other in practice.
