Audi Gods latest request

>not repairable and will cost $600 to replace

Yeah, right. Many of the parts mailorder places in archives will do you
good. I got an all metal local, but would have done the $135 oem plastic
from Northside Imports in Chicago (ask for Dennis, mention internet list)
if I had found them in time. When I shopped fuel pumps earlier this year I
double checked and found my $165 all metal deal could have been improved on,
I think AudiOnly also had similar, but faxed back too late. It may also
turn out NOT to be the rad, so do a thorough checkout: hoses, crack in
overflow tank (I found one), etc. If it is very slow and you want to
procrastinate (I do), add directly to fill tank a tube of "Silver Seal".
Accept no substitutes, this one really works and has never caused me any
heater core clogs. It comes in a 1"x4" blue, red, and silver tube, usually
$2-$4 and getting harder to find (I like to keep one in each cars tool box).
Dealer?
You've got to be kidding! The rad replacement was about an hour
with basic hand tools to install on my car... go for it.
