I don't mean to sound like a smart-a** here, but doesn't the auto climate
control already have a button to turn the compressor on and off?  It's the
"Econ" button...at least the way mine works.  "Auto" uses the compressor,
"Econ" turns it off and just uses the blower.

As screwy as these AC-Delco systems are, that is the one feature I wish I
had in my Corrado...auto climate controls.  Especially in the mornings when
I have to keep adjusting the stupid temp. dial and the fan speed...switch to
bilevel, back to full vents when the sun shines in the windshield.  At least
in the Audi it does all of that nonsense for me ;)

And believe it or not, here is another (are we the only two?) owner with a
fully functioning controller...
