Oh yeah - that indicates that yer frequency valve is workin'. It pulses at a
high frequency to adjust fuel pump pressure, thereby adjusting mixture (as
directed by the ECU via yer O2 sensor). If that contact isn't closed, you
lose power to 1/2 the ECU, the cold start valve, the freq valve, the O2
heater, the decel valve, the wastgate freq valve, and the warmup regulator -
thereby creating a bad day (or a bad 3 months, in 'someone's' case). Under
these conditions, yer Audi WILL still run - it will barely start (after
cranking forever), try to die constantly, accelerate painfully slow (direct
manual fuel injection) - but it will knock down 27 mpg on a high speed run
from Florida to Maryland and back. Plugs will be white as a sheet (gee -
running a little lean here?)...
Who sez these cars aren't reliable?
