Goodyear Eagle Aquatred Question

Hi,

I just bought two slightly used Goodyear Eagle Aquatred tires 
(205/60R15). A few months ago I replaced my D60A2's with Comp T/A HR 
tires. Nice tires but not the handling of the Dunlops. I bought them 
because I thought they would be better in the snow than a new set of Dunlops.
BTW, I have an '87 5KCSTQW.

Anyway, can I use the Eagle Aquatreds on the front and leave the Comp 
T/A on the rear in expectation of getting better handling with the same snow 
handling ability? IOW, can I use two different brand tires (same size, 
slightly different tread wear) on the Quattro  at the same time AND had 
anyone ever driven the Eagle Aquatreds? BTW, I got the two Eagles for $12!
