Misc., including Audi content

No response on this yet, and I really do think its a good idea . . .

(Repeat) Saw a good idea on another news group - they have a list of "don't
leave home without 'em" spares which they keep in the trunk of the car, so
that when the fan belt pops in Ghastly, Wyoming, you already have a spare on
hand.

Should we (or is there already) have a list of most common/hard to get
breakdown parts? Yes, I know Audis are great cars, and I really am fond of
my "agricultural" 5KCS, but as we all know, everything breaks sometimes.

(Fan belt/power steering belt/an injector/quart of Pentosin/headlight
bulb/fuses/relay #XX/etc.?) (End of repeat)

And now for a tech question:

I want to tow (very infrequently) a small trailer behind my 5KCS/standard
transmission. Anyone have a schematic on how to get the brake and turn sig
lights to work properly? I know I have to connect everything before the MCU
in the trunk or the autocheck will get more confused than it already is.
I've seen a little adaptor box in the auto parts stores which is supposed to
adapt this - anyone know what's in it?

Other:

I made a list two days ago of ALL the cars I've owned since the first one,
and some of them were very nice/expensive/exotic (and some were utter
junk!), total was about 50 cars, and quite honestly, I like my "vanilla"
1986 5KCS better than anything else I've ever owned! Only thing that was
even close in fun-factor was a '68 280SL (Eurospec) which was ALWAYS ALWAYS
broken, and cost me $500 WITHOUT FAIL EVERY SINGLE TIME I SAT IN IT! (But
the convertible was nice!)

Another Happy Audinaut,
