Not speaking for the rest of the world, the laws in NY are as follows:
they cannot increase your premiums by more than 10% a year or if accident 
damage was less than $1000 (or something like that).  Of course, law 
doesn't say they cannot simply drop your sorry a**.

About the insurance business in general: I talked to one friendly agent 
and he told me that, unlike the rest of the business world, U.S. 
insurance companies operate at no risk/loss.  This is disgusting, especially 
since car insurance is mandatory.
