Dan, on my 86 Coupe, I have replaced the slaves "pin" that you need to 
beat out, with a bolt and nut. Its been in for 3 years running! Works 
great! No more trying to beat out that pesky pin, or rust problems!

The bolts diameter should be at 6mm, and about 3 inches long. I also 
used a self lockong nut, and another as backup! I use a 1/4 drive 
ratchet and box end wrench, and the slave is out in a minute!
