RE: Fog light cracked
For many of those "unfixable" plastic parts, I have found a fix. It comes
courtesy of a friend who races motorcycles, they use it to keep all the
broken fairing and fender parts together when The Inevitable happens.
Get a tube of "crazy glue", the cyanoacrylate stuff, and simply glue the
pieces together (let it "set", usually a few seconds). Now the neat part:
with the tube of glue, "draw" a bead of liquid along the fracture (not too
wide), and dust it with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) until there's
no more liquid. This makes a hard fillet that strengthens the joint.
You can do this on both sides of the fracture if strength is more
more important than appearance.
In some cases (especially that black "ungluable" automotive plastic),
several layers can be added after filing each new layer somewhat flat
(so the fillet doesn't grow too large). This has been a lifesaver for
me many many times, hope it helps all of you too....
