Re: therm switch?

Barry asked:

Its screwed in the triangular metal shroud, right above the 5th port of the
exhaust mfld, next to the wastegate. It' a small brass thing with 1 wire
coming out of it.

If the fan fails to come on after you park your car after a long Banzai run
and the exh. mfld is so hot it emits the LOUD cracking noises, you might
have a switch failure ( I had it once). Here's how to tell which part is at
fault:

Turn the engine off, pull the wire off the sensor and momentarily ground the
wire. If the injector fan comes on - your sensor is screwd up. If the fan
does not come on - then its the wiring or the fan itself.

BTW, the sensor has a closing T-re° stamped on it. You can always take it
out of the car, hook an ohm meter to it and heat it up. It should close upon
reaching the appropriate T-re°.

Good luck
