Glove compartment light problem

Hi everyone,

I've just blown 3 fuses (for instrument panel and glove compartment
light) on my '90 90q. I have traced it down to the glove comp.
light. As soon as the glove comp. light switch is closed (in the
extended position), the fuse is blown.
The bulb is good. The switch seems good. At least it is opening and
closing the circuit properly. But obviously something is wrong
there.
Question, if I just check the conductivity between the two wires
leading to the switch, should it be open or close ?
Does anyone have any experience with this ?
Thanks,
