Little dogs
I'm still a little dog.
Got back from NC this morning at 2am. I'm beat. With little Audi content I'll
keep this short. But racers may find this interesting
My brother and I drove to Charllotte Motor Speedway to race the kart in the
Yamaha 100cc medium and heavy classes. 13hrs down, 10 back. The car ran
perfectly. We got 26.4 mpg for the trip and an average of 67mph. I'm really
glad I've at least got Hella XLs on the car or the return would have been real
tough.
Other classes besides Yamaha raced as this was a world event. Big fields of
Formula A. These are direct drive with about 25hp at 19,000rpm!
Drivers from 16 countries! Pits that but for the size of a kart would rival an
F1 race. Tony Karts from Italy for example. Teams from Italy, the UK, US and
Australia! A billion boxes of parts. New tires for every round of everything.
Dozens of engines. Different chassis/engines/tires for the rain! And it did.
Special weight tubing that they feel will "remember" the NC track. Those get
left behind they hope. Even a "Park Ferme (sp)" for tech checks. The drivers
you can tell want to go to F1. Event the older ones, like the 18 yr olds were
just tiny people. 5'3" and 130lbs wet. Not like us!
How about laptops to download kart info! Really big time.
Anyway just an amazing event. We didn't win. But we didn't lose either.
We are small dogs, but happy dogs. We got off the porch
