Be real careful here.  I recently purchased a car for my son.  Picked 
it up late on a Fri.  By Sat pm it was obvious that it was a junker 
that had been in an accident at one time.  When the bank opened Mon. 
Am I was waiting, and stopped payment on the check.   I then called 
the dealer and told them that the car was coming back.  Dealer said no 
way and that if I did not release the check I would be in big do-do.
I called the attorney generals office and found out that the dealer 
was correct, stopping payment on the check was a serious offense and 
that I had better get a lawyer fast.  I let the check clear the bank, 
then went hunting.  In the end I won and got a full refund from the 
dealer.
