Octane Myth

I know higher octane results in lower fuel economy for -me-, but I also know
why...

Damned cars are so much more fun to drive hard and fast when they perform
well.  

Here's a neat one for you.... years ago, four-speed sticks were rated better
than 5-speed sticks for economy by the EPA, partly for that same reason.
