limited edition A4

I just came back from the yearly homage to Chicago... Home sweet home.

Anyway, as part of the trip, I always try to get some interesting mags on
Audis -- but didn't find much this time. But here it goes on the limited
edition A4, roughly translated from Japanese car mag Genroq (no, I don't
know what THAT means)...

Recently, Audi has began selling an limited edition A4 called A4 quattro
AZK. This limited edition A4 is coordinated and prepared by Audi Zentrum
Koblenz (AZK), who regularly prepare A4 for the super touring car
(championship) for Audi.

This edition is going to be duplicated 55 times, of which 10 is going to
Japan (I guess that's why it's in this mag...). Rest of them is planned
to be sold in Germany.

On the exterior, you can have this A4 in any A4 scheme as long as it's
"chrystal silver metallic" with black interior. (: Starting with the chin
spoiler, an "carbon fibre" DTM-style is bolted underneath of what seems to
be the standard A4 bumper. This DTM-style chin spoiler has those "gills"
that is common to most DTM-going cars that's just in front of the front
tire. A spoiler is installed where the roof meets the rear windshield
glass (a la in many "sport" station wagons). And there is no regular wing
on the trunk. The wheels, by OZ, is 15-spoke 8Jx17 wearing 245/40-17
footware. There's little red graphic lettering on the front left edge of
the hood (a la M3 Club Sport) saying limited 55 editions.

On the back trunk lid, the chrome badges of "A4," "quattro," and the Audi
4-ring is replaced with graphic silk-screening, red background with
silver lettering.

In the interior, all wood trim pices (or plastic, depending on trim level)
are all replaced by carbon-fibre-look pieces. But the attention getter is
the huge, absolutely humongous solid aluminum shift knob.

In the engine department, fuel delivery system, the air intake, and
exhaust as well as the engine management as been worked over by AZK. The
orginal KKK K14 turbo is swapped with the bigger K16. With higher boost,
low-restriction air filter and sport muffler, this A4 produces 240ps at
5800rpm. The maximum torque is 29.6kg-m at 2350rpm, but most of them will
be available at around 2000rpm. The maximum boost is 0.95kg/cm^2.

The shock absorber is bade by Koni (AZK spec), so are the Eibach coil
springs. The front also gets a bigger stabilizer.

The review says this isn't a peaky motor as several tuners offer on
the A4 (like those that I posted last year) -- but rather feel like A4
1.8t with bigger motor. (There's also something of unclear part, like 9cm
ground clearance...!?) The SRP is Y6,950,000 -- about U.S. $63,000 at
current exchange rate. Available through selected Audi dealer via
special order.
