RE: Carbon Copies (minimal Audi content)
No and no (well, mostly).
The Saab 9000 is based on the same "platform" as the Lancia Thema (?),
Alfa 164 and Fiat Chroma. They were originally intended to be very
similar, but ended up being very different, at least between the Saab
and the Fiat Co. cars.
As for the Sterling, only the original Legend made it to become a
Sterling (or should that be "was humiliated into becoming"?). The later
Legend model was not copied by Rover. Too bad for them in retrospect.
Are you sure the Isuzu Impulse was based on the Scirocco? Isuzu has a
strong GM affiliation, so I doubt that. BTW, the Impulse had suspension
tuning by Lotus.
