**You don't say where you live**, but if it doesn't go much below freezing
you shouldn't need the alcohol.

He said "Chicago" as in -40 degrees F. (or C!)  But there must be other
chemicals that would interfere with the formation of solid water.  Soap?  I
saw a "different" w/w fluid the other day, maybe at the supermarket.  I will
remember to look at what it was and report.
