Re. Diff. tie rod end threads...

No, tie rod ends & tie rods are complete bartar*s to get hold of for
q's. when I go my coupe q (87) the right hand tie rod was fine but the
left hand tie rod was from a 90 (5000 ?) and bent slightly to fit - ug !
I eventually found the correct tie rod from a scrap yard for 35 GBP
incuding the tie rod end.

I'm having a problem finding the correct replacement for the pass. side
front
outer tie rod end, on my 87 5kcsTQ. A few months ago I had no problem
obtaining the dr. side one. My mechanic tells me the end I just got for
the
pass. side has threads (about 14mm) that are too large. He then tried to
obtain one with smaller threads (about 12mm) but claims he could only
obtain
the entire assembly.
Are the ends different on the non-Qs? Perhaps a non-Q rod is in there?
Perhaps the entire rod was replaced with an aftermarket brand using
larger
threads? Any ideas?
