XLs of not
Xlers
Last Friday it was warm enough in CT to get out there and wash of my two cars.
The Xr hasn't been out in a while but the '88 Audi 5ktq was filthy, all covered
with crap and sand. And here lies the point of this note.
One other reason to go for euro lights from wherever, Matrix or someone else, or
doing the four light early setup is you can still go through a carwash.
Now I know I'll hear that no real car lover goes to a carwash etc., but w/o that
weird warm weather I'll be driving a dirty car. Why? The DIY washes are OK but
still cost $8 worth of quarters to stand in a backwash of dirty car water while
you run around in the cold with a more than likely leaking freezing cold brush
spewing soapy water.
So with XLs why can't you go through a car wash? Hang some outboard lights on
your car and go to a carwash and it's rodeo time. Those slinging spinning
brushes of whatever kind you find will lasso those lights in a heartbeat and
pull them off.
Need you ask how I know? It was the Xr, now with euro lights not the Audi.
The pearl paint on my car is far from perfect. A carwash won't hurt it. YMMV.
I need the XLs on mine. Really need them. The stock lights are no more than
running lights. I can't tell when I've got on my high beams! When the XLs are
aimed to be really effective I get flashed.
I'm goin' euro, even Matrix euros will be a monster improvement.
Just a thought to add to the euro or not debate.
