various observations
Hi all,
Oh joy! Oh joy... I can see clearly now, my washer jets have defrosted!
Wish these babies were heated... two weeks ago, I refilled my washer tank
with Shell-branded gunk guaranteed to stand up to -20 C... which froze up
instantly.
Two weeks of driving behind salt-spraying trucks, trying to clean my
'screen with paper towels grabbed from every petrol station I came
across... now at least I'm *sure* my lights are on! I could do with some
headlamp washers though...
On some occasions I've mentioned that Holland is not really q country.
About one out of every 5000 Audis sold here is an AWD version. A clue to
this may be found in the price list I posted earlier... but this week's
been good for q spotting. Yesterday, I saw an 96 A8 4.2Q (wow!) and a nice
dark blue metallic 89 90Q. Today, a re-registered Coupe Q 20V (early grill)
in beautiful black and an 87 black metallic 80... a wannabe methinks
(quattro and 2.6 badges- a blatant fake). Also a nice silver 94 80Q passed
me this morning. Great- it's been months since I last saw a q here before
these. I must say that with this bad weather my longing for AWD has been
increased...
Today, while driving to work, I thought there was something seriously wrong
with my car. Strange rattles and clink-clinking noises came from the rear
as I went over a really bad road (detour because of a burst water main).
Then suddenly it hit me that I've still got those 50-odd empty beer bottles
in the back I must return to the supermarket someday... oops! No parts
numbers needed for this repair I guess.
Sorry guys, not strictly Audi discussion. Just nothing better to do at the
moment.
Tom
