I have 15x7x45 Fuch alloys with 215/50-15 on my '83 TQC.  225/50 D40's did
NOT fit....they rubbed on the inside front without adding spacers.  They
did NOT, however,  rub on the inside rear fender at all under any driving
"conditions".  I have always figured that eventually I'd try some 7"
35-37mm offset wheels to see if they rubbed at either end.
