filters, TQC
>I can get OEM filters for about $3 each.
Where do you get them from?
By the way...talked with Andrew today. Looks like the deal on the wagon is
going to go through. Such is life and problems with communications,
secretaries passing on messages, etc..
Another occurence of disquieting interest...after taking the TQC in for
some delayed insurance work related to the flood of July '95 (yes, '95), I
had some body and paint detailing done. Because of State Farms delay in
authorizing the repair after the car had been pulled apart, it sat that way
for 3+ weeks. It finally made it to the body shop the week before
Christmas, just when my 15 month old daughter caught pneumonia, cancelled
out holiday plans, and eventually got the whole family sick.
Anyway, picked up the car Friday...geez it had been a long time! Felt like
getting in a running shoe after all that time exclusively in my company
Intrepid. What a thrill to wind that sucker out again...but there was this
intertesting little sound...like a little electric disc saw, somewhere
underneath and a similar sound behind the dash. And the steering wheel was
off center...and the tire pressures were at 20 psi...and the dam* dent in
the door was still there and had been painted over and they had missed two
chips!
Back it went. Got in from Laurel, MS last night about 9 p.m. (wonderful
town...5 way stoplight and all) and Ann informed me that someone had seen
the car at the dealer, got my name (Keith refused to giv him my number
until he talked with me). The guy called BellSouth, convinced them to
contact Me/Ann and ask if I/we would talk with him. She did briefly and he
"loves the car!!.. has to have it!!.. must talk with me before I consider
doing anything else with it!!!" Not that it's really for sale, mind you.
Don't know if I could do that. But, there are a slew of eccentrics in New
Orleans who might help drive up the market price on these things if
properly manipulated. We'll have to see. What would be a REAL price??!!
I don't really know. It's a single entry semiUS spec car that Dave Sutton
brought in. It came with the zebra cloth interior, audisport shift know,
FittiE3 wheel and, apparently, a somewhat modified Euro brain that was
tuned down to US spec??? Don't really know, but I've never hit a
rev/boost limit, even winding it to the gills on the track and, with the
adjustable wastegate screwed down, it's got to be at or over 200 bhp. The
spring, by the way, is definitely NOT standard issue. But you wouldn't
expect that from Mr. Sutton, would you.
Hey Bruce Bell, if you're still out there, what do you think? If I can get
him up to where I've got enough to consider getting into an S4 (like half
of it), is it worth it?
Nah, Can't relly see it/ But, maybe...
