Hissing from transmission
Fellow Audians,
With the cold weather an anoying hiss has developed from the transmission.
It travels through the stick. If I move it slightly (I was going to say
'play with it' but decided against it) the hiss almost dissapears, only to
come back again when I change gears.
I'm pretty sure its not the release bearing since I had it replaced about 6
month ago with the clutch. The hissing does not get worse when I press the
clutch, its just there.
I suspect its just gear noise filtering into the car. Or is it bearings
getting noisy? Should I try Redline gear oil, currently I have in there
whatever the Audi dealer put in there, I hope its the right oil.
Any comments?
TIA
