        EXACTLY!  

                    Mine has done this for at least 2 years now and 
only when cold. If I move the selector just millimeters back or forth 
the noise seems to quiet. 3rd gear also the noisiest? try pulling the 
stick back just slightly while in 3rd gear. I always do this until 
it's warmed up(about 5-10 min). I've been running Redline in the tranny and rear 
diff. for over a year now (no change).  I think it's just cold gear noise.
