Michele M on NBC Europe

Hi all,

Was zappin' away yesterday evening and happened upon some nice rallying
action on NBC Super Channel Europe. Turned out they had invited the top
rally aces to battle head-to-head in similar cars across a mixed-surface
circuit. Very close, very quick, good stuff. Didier Auriol won by less than
a second.
Among the commentators was good ole' Michele Mouton! Too bad the cars
didn't include an Audi, and she didn't drive...
Unfortunately, the event seemed Toyota-sponsored: RAV4s, Starlets, AWD
Celicas. Oh, and the odd Escort Cosworth. The fact that they drove
alongside each other made for exciting racing though.

BTW I bought the 'Ultimate Classic Car Book' by Quentin Willson of BBC Top
Gear fame yesterday. Apart from the superb photography, my main reason for
buying was the inclusion of the Sport Quattro. Four pages, with some data
but mainly *awesome* front, rear, side, interior, engine and dash shots of
a Tornado red Sport Q (why does everybody keep calling it a Quattro Sport
though?) Boy, does this car look MEAN!
Anyone who wants to see this car in detail, should check this great book
out. Those making rallying games probably should too.
Published by Dorling Kindersley, ISBN etc on demand. Usual disclaimer, just
a happy reader.

Bye,

Tom
