Unidentified Noise...

     Recently, my 94 90CS (2.8L V6) began making a ticking noise.  The 
     noise only appears after the engine warms up and sounds to me like its 
     coming from the rear lifter on the drivers side.  Since the car is 
     still under warranty, I took it to the dealer yesterday to have them 
     investigate.  According to the service manager, their "technicians" 
     are unable to identify the source.  He indicated that when they 
     disconnected the injectors on the left side, the noise stopped.  As 
     I'm not particularly mechanically inclined (I know, then why do I own 
     an Audi?), does anyone have a clue as to what the problem could be.  
     The "technicians" are stumped.  The national Audi service rep is 
     supposed to be in town on the 24th and is scheduled to take a look at 
     it.  TIA for your assistance.  You guys are great!
