The article in the Southampton Press that appeared on this past Thursday
explains that the racetrack land, owned for some time by Robert M. Rubin
was, after a 2 year review and controversy, granted a zoning change that
would allow the Rubins to apply to build a private golf course and 20
houses on plots that would accomodate one extra dwelling per lot. Mr.
Rubin said that it was still unclear whether there'd be any racing at
the track during 1997.
