There is nothing intrinsically wrong with bonding glass.  Treser probably
used an incorrect adhesive.  Audi has been bonding its front and rear
windshields (windscreens for those of you from UK) in the C3 body Audi 100
(ca. 1983) and just about every Audi model since 1987.
