RE: tire value: attn gurus

What advantage? 16s= heavier than 15. I did it mostly for looks. I do like
the tires but if looks are not an issue go with d40, sp8k, or AVS in the 15"
size and get the added bonus of more sidewall. I think the d40s are in a
little different class than the sp8k or the AVS IMO.
But the d40s will last a little longer than the AVS BTDT. Cant speak for the
sp8k but I have heard that it wears fairly well and performs as well or better
than the AVS.

AVS now will do sp8k next.(for experience)
16" now, 16" again (what can I say I like the looks)

Item Cost
4-6x15 Ronals $100-$150
4-205-50-15 D40 $412 + shipping
                       $550-$600

or
4-6x16 ? $500-$1000
4-205-45-16 SP8000 $640 + shipping
                       $1150-$1650
Is the advantage of the 16-45 (whether SP or AVS (Pat M?) or whatever) going
to
be that great over the 15-50 D40? Worth $1000???? I'd love some 5-spoke wheels
to match my 5-pot engine, but I also like the stealth of the "stock" Ronal 15s
and the chance to spend a grand on a vertical mill or some new springs/struts.
