Im not sure about the size of the openings... My tires do get lost in the 
wheel well, but they are the correct size. And they are pretty close to 
the leading edge of the the fender. The 50's make it worse up at the 
leading edge, and DO rub under certaint braking/bumpy conditions. You'll 
be amazed how much the Lower control arms move. My wife's car with the 
50's rub.

My stock size was 205 50 15...
