You are right, I should have been more clear...I was refering to replacement
OE type shocks....gas shocks have a tendency to affect height in some cases.
I was trying to convey to Dave that usually body height is good way of
checking spring condition (some models of vw tend to sag in the rear) and I
have seen this in 4K/80/90 series of Audi as well. Some factory repair
manuals show body height measurement as a tool in troubleshooting worn
springs....
