cruise control again

Alright alright now I'm getting absolutely no CC on my barebones 86 5k.
I received two messages about maybe the shifter causing my problem. Any way to
test it? Backup lights and solenoid are good (as far as the shifter goes) .
vacuum is good and tight, switch is good, When shorted the vacuum collapses the
servo. 
Except for no cruise, it works, at least as far as I can tell. (the solenoid
busted and the original owner simply destroyed the shifter, I installed
Junkyard part, hooked up all wires
including RED/BLACK) CC worked last week, BTW. Anything Else anyone knows?

Oh, yeah, a friend of mine said, the other day, "He says its an Audi, but its
actually an Infiniti, because thats how long its going to take him to fix it."
