SF Bay Area: NASA Autocross Series
... it looks like my subscription to the ba-ax mail list is finally starting
to pay off! There is an organization called NASA (National Auto Sport Asso-
ciation) which to date has offered events at the major tracks (Thunderhill,
Sears Point and Laguna Seca) for a price that is comparable or worse than
those offered by QCUSA. In the past I haven't gotten much positive feed-
back from the q-list WRT participation in these events. As you can read
from the attached message below, it sounds like NASA has started a auto-
cross series ... at much more reasonable rates. Please feel free to let
me know if you are interested in this series ... I'm hoping that we can
get enough interest to become a "marque club" in the series.
I'm sorry about the general post to the entire q-list. Please make any
responses to me via direct e-mail. I will keep the list apprised of the
status in short and very occasional updates. I'm hoping that at some time
in the future we can set up a separate e-mail list like exists in the NE
and NW regions for local events ...

will not be counted towards series points / trophies, nor will runs taken after
school runs by an individual.
Series trophies will be awarded at the NASA banquet at the end of the season.
You must attend at least 50% of the NASA autocross events to qualify for season
trophies.
The NASA series is stiving to bring some of the old time flavor of the marque
clubs to modern day autocrossing. The events are all about having fun at a low
key event.
