4kcsq left front thunk noise

I replaced a broken coil spring on the front of my 4kcsq 2 weekends ago. I also
replaced all the strut inserts with KYBs.  The left front area now makes a
THUNK noise when going slow (<5-10mph) over large bumps (didn't use to).  Strut
tower bearings are new as well.  Nut on top seems to be tight, what else could
it be?  A worn ball joint wouldn't make this loud of a noise would it?  The
replaced coil spring was from an '85; mine's an '86.
