Traveling in the center lane at night may enhance one's
chances of avoiding Bodywork by Deer. In these Yewnited
Snakes, the deer population is rather out of control (trying
to match us hoomins!).
Needless to say, I only advocate this when on lonely
stretches of road. [Center lane driving that is, not
overpopulating :-)]

P.S. When I was at University in Phil's country I was
amused to find the critters [deer:-)] fed & housed on
campus.
