Re: filling a 4kq
Same problem on my ex '90 90q20V as well as my current 94 90csq.
Didn't bother me too much until I moved to New Jersey. In NJ, there is
only full service gas stations. Being winter, the last thing an
attendant wants to do is to hold the pump, so they usually proceed to...
let's just say the audi gods have it in for me for allowing such wanton
abuse.
Back in LA/SF, I "solved" the problem by passing by cheap arco and exxon
stations instead going to Mobil stations with the new pump with vacumn
fuel recovery systems. But being Jersey and all, these pumps do not
seem to have received Christie Whitman's motherly kiss of approval so I
have to go to Manhattan ($1.60+/gal.) to enjoy hassle-free, self-serve
pumping.
This is so annoying, I've seriously considered going to Paul Miller
(standard-shift-A41.8T D-Day = end of March) and putting a down payment
on an A41.8T-standard or moving out of Jersey, which is the likeliest
scenario.
To all you A4 owners: any filling problems? I'd certainly like to know.
