Timing Belts

When I purchased my '81 urq from a dealer I insisted he get the belt
changed cause the car didn't come with any books/service history and it
had 95,000 miles. He agreed that it would be best. 

The mechanic who did it came back and said it was damn lucky we did
as the belt wasn't going much further. A good story for once.

Is the cost of fixing the damage later worth risking? Not for me.
