Computer Code Checking

I was able to find a list of the computer codes in the archives. What I
wasn't able to find was the proper process for checking them. I was told
that it might be possible to do it through the climate control and the other
method was to put a fuse in the top of my fuel pump relay. Where would the
output be for the fuel pump relay method?  I am hoping that it is something
minor that has ground my car to a halt as I was quoted 400.00 for a new fuel
pump today. Thanks for your help.
