Double-nut sounds like the way to go!  Also, double-nut can sometimes be
used in place of a lock washer.  Never heard of the double wrench trick,
though.  Ah, well, "plagiarism" can be considered a compliment, so I'll
try it next time.

For other situations, might try a big Torx bit.  When the corners on an
internal hex round, a Torx can often fit, and the larger radius can give
enough additional torque to break loose the bolt.  I used a T-55 on my
V8 oil drain plug, which is 10 mm Allen.  Don't know if there's anything
bigger than a T-60, though.
