Re: 4Q exhaust possibilites

In a message dated 97-03-17 22:18:31 EST, you write:

<< I'm confused. Now that the 4Q has a turbo, some people say "ya gotta go
3"
exhaust," but others, like Stebbro and Ned R., say that 3" is too big,
unless
 I'm talkin' more than 300hp.

Since the latter is not the case, should I stick with 2.5"?

 thanks for the help, again.

The 2.5 is fine, especially if you are using the stock downpipe, no reason to
do 3in unless you are doing the downpipe. The HP isn't really the issue, the
computer and turbo have more effect on performance than the exhaust in a
2.5-3in application. If you are planning on running a 2 bar computer mod
only, the rest a stock motor, 2.5 is cheaper and effective. If you plan on
getting wilder, the 3in is the way to go, BTDT, but It's expesive getting 3in
systems, and 3in to the turbo is almost impossible with a 4k chassis anyhow.
