Hang on - we're getting confused here.  One is a pump, one a fan.  The
turbo cooling pump is timed - it runs after engine shutdown.  The
injector cooling fan is driven by a thermoswitch above the inlet manifold
towards the rear of the engine.  Ground the contact and the fan should
run.

Do you have a chassis (VIN) number for the donor vehicle?  We could
really use that, and the engine serial number, and the model of ECU
(the side will say something like "MAC12").  I'd be surprised if the
ECU is the original from the car, though it might be from the engine.
