RE: Those stupid BMWs...
Bryan,
By the way, BMW's since the early 80's have had timing belts, not chain
driven cams. And BMWs are not that bad, you can find a hell of a lot more
after market performance parts for BMWs than you can for Audis, which means
more speed and uniqueness for less money. Also, the fun of owning a souped
up BMW is blowing the doors of off the unsuspecting yuppies in there BMWs,
Lexus, Infinitys, Nissans, etc...!!! I must agree that I like those big
bulky bumpers on the 80's BMWs more so than the new ones (my big fat bumper
kicked the $#(@ out of a big blue buick's front, saving my car from being
totaled). I also must agree with about the motronic systems (l-jet,
etc..). I like the ability to put a chip in the car (easy hp, tq, and
redline enhancement), but I HATE dealing with fuel injection problems!!!
But I wouldn't go so far as to prefer a CIS system like Porsche used to
use. Besides, with BMWs you can mix and match parts from different BMWs
and other cars, making it one really unique car. Also, they are usually
insured as regular family sedans (little do they know...) However, the
only BMW that was a four wheel drive was the 325iX and they can get
expensive ($15,000 to $18,000 to purchase). But a BMW sure beats many
Fords, Chevys, Nissans, and other lesser engineered cars.
