	Can I believe my eyes when I read that the general consent of the 
Quattro list is that the t-belt on 5 cyl's DONT NEED TO BE CHANGED????
(re: Murphy Was: Intro comments)  I don't know about the rest of you, 
but I generally like to follow the AUDI owner's manuals for 
maintenance schedule . . . I must confess my current t-belt has over 
50k on it, and it is beginning to show small cracks (dry rot) letting 
me know that I'm driving on borrowed time.  This notion of not having 
to change the timing belt reeks of rice-burner poison;  If you treat 
your car in that manner, it will come back to haunt you.  I plan to 
hit the 300-400k mile range that the 5cyl can easily reach, and the 
key is MAINTENANCE!!!
Maybe you guys should get one of those Generous Motors "100k miles 
before the first scheduled tune-up cars"  Oh, thats gonna work . . .
