Engine codes and swaps (UK 2144cc)

No.  The MB is 2226cc.  Wider bores, higher compression, different fuel supply 
system (!!!!), different electronics, different accessories on the car.  The RR 
engine is a 20V which is a _very_ different design from the earlier 10Vs - 
cross-flow head, pulsed fuel injection, etc.
