35 w may be ok but the depth of sound is not going to be that great. You will
not get much punch. I would suggest getting a 100w amp for reletively cheap
and getting the most out of it. You are putting a lot of work into it so I
would not skimp at this point.
2) The Audi accepts 5 1/4" speakers. To put 6X9's I will have to either cut
the sheet meatl (blasphemy!) or get those plywood cases ($30/pair from
BestBuy) for my 6X9's and stuff them in the back at an angle of 60 degrees or
so. How would that effect the sound? Any ideas? I am willing to work with it,
but it does seem a bit juvenile.
The rear parcel shelf is not metal so just cut it. If the 6x9's are not too
deep you should not have to touch the metal. If they are too deep someone
makes 6x9 flush adapters that will raise the 6x9 off the mounting surface and
it will look fine. DO NOT GET THOSE UGLY BOXES PLEASE!!! Sorry but I think
those things are hideous. I made my own flush adaptors with sheet metal.
