RE: Spark Plugs

This is a timely discussion for me, since I am about to do a tune up
     on my 900S (sorry).

I have tried Bosch Platinums in the 900S, the Vanagon, and the 4000Q,
     and I wasn't impressed. I'm not saying they're worse, but I think
they aren't in any way better. And when you look tat a Bosch platinum
after some miles, its tip becomes rather concave, like the metal of
the center electrode is eroded. I thought this was where platinums
were supposed to be so great??? I ultimately went back to the Bosch
tri electrodes on the 4000Q, if only because that was how it came OE.
I still have the Platinums in the vanagon, and they are doing OK.
When it's time to pull them, I'd like to try something else.

Anyway, as I said above, the 900S needs a tune up. I currently have
those Accel "U-Groove" plugs in it. I have nothing passionate to say
about them, either good or bad. So, right now, I am thinking of going
with the Split fires for the 900S. At worst, it will be $24 spent on
     an "experiment."

I'd like to hear from this group of any experiences you've had with
Split Fires, or any other plug for that matter. So far I read one
person report improved gas mileage from Split Fires, and another
person report that they are "crappy." So those testimonies seem to
offset each other. Can anyone add any more information to the "pool
     of knowledge?"

     Thanks for any shared experiences...

     Chris
