Access to climate control fan

Since I have been fixing a lot of big and little things on my '92 100S
lately, I figured why should I stop now. My latest problem has been my
climate control fan (at least I think). I'll be riding along, and out of the
clear blue it starts making this horrific sqeaking noise. Although the sound
is unbearable, it does not affect the intensity of the fan at all. It does
not do this all the time. I figured I should fix it before it heats up this
summer and I need to use the A/C. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this
fan accessable? If accessable, do you access the fan through the inside of
the car or from under the hood?
