"Some" lifter noise is normal at start up. If it persists after the engine is
warm then it is a problem. Is the car running well? If not then it is more of
a problem. The vacuum pump is another source of "ticking" sounds. A good oil
sludge remover like lubro moly and a couple of doses valve cleaner like
techron might clear it up if it is a sticking valve lifter. Dealer cost to
replace all ten will make you sit down and think. Good luck.
