Arn't those showers every time you open the trunk a real b*&^%. I
finally got mine to seal. No more cold showers. I took the lights
completely off of the car, be careful they tend to stick pretty good
and aren't cheap. Then I removed all of the old black sealent, put
it in a can and put it on the stove to warm. Meanwhile I cleaned the
mating surfaces of the car and the light assemblies. When the
sealent was nice and hot, soft and sticky I put a bead of it around a
light assembly and quickly pressed the assembly into place, use as
much force as you dare. NO MORE LEAKS....
I did it this way only because I live 60 miles from the nearest parts
store that actually had new sealent, and I wasn't going to spend two
hours on the road. When it only took about that long to do the job
using the old sealent.
